ICHN — Natural handicap compensatory allowance

In detail

The ICHN offsets the extra costs and income losses of farmers operating in areas with natural constraints (mountains, disadvantaged areas). Paid per hectare on a degressive basis, it is co-funded by EAFRD and the State. It is requested via the CAP declaration.

Eligibility conditions

Farm headquarters and at least 80% of utilised agricultural area in a disadvantaged zone; minimum and maximum stocking rate depending on the zone; be an active farmer.

How to get it

1. Check your land's classification as a disadvantaged zone
2. Declare your areas and animals on TéléPAC
3. Tick the ICHN in the declaration
4. Sign before the deadline (mid-May)
